About CFG

Certified Financial Group, LLC is owned and operated by native Northwest Indiana resident Richard J. Serletic, C.P.A. Upon graduating from Porter County’s Boone Grove High School, Richard attended Valparaiso University where he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration.

After working in the business world for several years, Richard took his love for mathematics and analytical thinking to the next level and pursued a Post-Baccalaureate certificate in accounting from Indiana University Northwest in Gary. Richard passed the certified public accountant exam in the top 10% in the state and gained experience by working in accounting firms in Merrillville and Munster.

In 2003, Richard opened Certified Financial Group, LLC. Since that time, the business has continued to grow. In November 2008, Certified Financial Group, LLC moved its location to 61 Indiana Avenue in downtown Valparaiso next to Greeks Pizzeria just west of the square. This new expanded location offers more parking and main level access while still maintaining the same great service.

Additionally, Richard is an active community member through his participation with the Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis, in which he serves as the Treasurer, and the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
